Best kept secret in Kona: Humpy's. The name, the casual vibe, and the reasonable prices will make you think that it doesn't rate as one of the better restaurants in Kona. Guess what? It is. We've been to the better known, high price restaurants all week and we had the best meal of the week at Humpy's. It is right on the water and the views are incredible. Our server was accommodating, friendly, and very efficient. And the food was both affordable and VERY GOOD. We had a fairly large party and ordered nachos, calamari, and mozzarella sticks. For entrees we had the fresh catch, blackened, teriyaki steak, the pesto seafood pasta, the soy sauce marinated chicken, and several other things --- all VERY good. I am so impressed. We will be back.

Cool spot. Breakfast with a view. Food was good and service was good. Prices you'd expect to pay in tourist area. I got the mahi bene and wife got traditional bene. Very good. Great view of the ocean. They also have upstairs lanai to sit and eat.

This restaurant caught my eye online due to the number of on tap beers they have - they have a wonderful and wide selection. We nestled into the bar and had a fantastic view right in time for sundown. The dip sounded so good, so we got that an an entree each. The fish sandwich I had was one of the best in Hawaii. It was perfectly cooked and the mac salad was out of this world. We had a great bartender who was attentive to us and kind - I always like to note that in a touristy area because tourists can be difficult! Would recommend for bar food vibe.

Didn't have to wait for a table around 7pm. Started off with big mozzarella sticks that were good. Entree was even better. I got the kalua pork and cabbage with mac salad and rice. It was delicious I ate every bite. My mom got the shrimp and it was good as well.

We came here for breakfast, along with all of the other tourists. The views are amazing (we sat on the upper balcony). It is hard for me to be too upset about anything while enjoying views of ocean. Food prices were rather high, but drinks seemed reasonable. I had a mimosa with POG that was great. For breakfast, I had the loco moco. It was tasty. My spouse had banana mac-nut pancakes that were also pretty good. The service was adequate--our orders were correct and came out reasonably quickly. I'm not sure if it's the "best breakfast" as advertised, but we were happy with it.

This review is not for Happy Hour. Humpy's has happy hour and it is a great place for that. You can see whales, dolphins, etc. out the front of the bar. This review is about their sandwiches and.I assume equally good pizza. Every day at lunch they have these phenomenal sandwiches made with fresh pizza dough for the bread. We like the Italian one so much that we haven't even tried a different one. The only problem is that there is no overlap between happy hour and sandwich hour. We have been given different reasons - there's only one guy who makes them and he only works lunch, the pizza oven is too busy (doing what I don't know) during dinner, the dishes take too long to make during peak hours. Don't miss this, though. It's worth paying an extra dollar for your beer to get this sandwich.

The appetizers were great I liked the calamari and the fried pickle was really, really good. My husband ordered the steak and said it was alright not great. I'm surprised he would order a steak in Hawaii considering we ate at some of the best steak houses in NYC. On the other hand with all the cattle ranches on the island why not have a kick as* steak. I ordered a fish dish and it was good in flavor but the portion was small. If I returned I would only eat from the appetizer menu keeping it simple and have a cold beer. But we won't be returning.
